For about a month and a half this year I became a sort of “part time mom” while I nannied my friend’s baby. When people say that inspiration is everywhere I really believe that because one day while I was feeding the baby, an analogy came to me.
I would typically give him about 4-5oz during feeding and even though there is only 1oz different between the 2, I saw a change in behavior. When I only gave him 4oz he seemed full but really it wasn’t enough to sustain him. He was crankier and more restless because he was running on a false level of satisfaction. The day would go much smoother when he got 5oz. His naps were longer and he was happier overall because he was truly full and satisfied.
Filling yourself with worldly things will only last and fulfill you for so long. Don’t choose to go through life with only partial nourishment. My old youth pastor used to always say “garbage in, garbage out.” That phrase is so true and we need to be careful what we fuel ourselves with. God and his promises can truly satisfy us. Thats why it’s important to fill yourself with everything right, true, good, lovely, etc, and that is Christ!
